Developer ID Bulk Editor

The Developer ID Bulk Editor allows users to edit the Developer ID values of multiple text entities at once.

How to access

Available on the web app and the Figma plugin, users can select multiple text items or library components and click Bulk edit to enter the Bulk Editor.

General editing

Upon opening the Bulk Editor, users will see each of their selected items alongside the current Developer ID value. Each Developer ID can be manually edited one by one, then submitted in a single batch to update the whole selection at once. Edits are validated against the Workspace Developer ID Config just as they would be with individual edits.

Prefixes

If all of the selected items belong to the same feature/category/namespace, users can add a shared prefix to all selected items by entering a value at the top of the form. Typing a value into the prefix input will add that prefix in front of every selected item. The prefix will only be added if the checkbox is checked. Users will see the prefix directly in the input field if the prefix is valid and active.

Character limit

The bulk editor also allows adding a custom character limit to all of the items in the selection. Any values that are longer than the maximum length provided, including the added prefix, will show validation errors and require fixing before submission.

This limit must be less than or equal to the character limit set by the Workspace Developer ID Config, as all values still must adhere to the primary config.

⌛ In the Bulk Editor, all configuration options are temporary. Only Developer ID values are persisted on save. Prefix and character limit are session-only aids; after submission, they aren’t attached, validated, or remembered.
