When working in a large Figma file, you could encounter longer than normal load times in the Figma plugin as Ditto processes all the selected text layers. Enabling Ditto’s performance mode changes how Ditto displays Figma selections, and will significantly improve the Ditto’s performance and response times on large files.
Instead of showing every embedded text layer at once, Ditto surfaces the frame names and lets you open any frame to see its text layers as needed.
Enable performance mode:
Open the … menu and click Settings
Go to the Performance tab and enable performance mode
💡 Performance mode only applies to the project it is enabled in and for that user. Once enabled, this setting persists in future sessions and can be changed at any time.
Standard mode vs. Performance mode
Performance mode trades some features and performance checks in standard mode for speed and faster response times. The following outlines all the differences in behavior across the two modes. Remember that you can switch modes in the plugin settings at any time to access standard mode features not available in performance mode.
