Ditto's Slack integration lets your team follow activity in Ditto projects and the component library directly from Slack. Once a project or the component library is connected to a Slack channel, Ditto posts notifications there as your team edits text, leaves comments, changes statuses, and more.
How it works
Connect Ditto to Slack in two layers:
Workspace connection (one time). A Ditto admin connects your organization's Slack workspace to Ditto. This installs the Ditto Slack app and only needs to happen once.
Channel connections (per project / library). After the workspace is connected, anyone with edit access in Ditto can connect an individual project — or the component library — to a specific Slack channel, and choose which kinds of notifications get sent there.
💡 You can connect both public and private Slack channels. Channel selection happens inside Slack's own approval screen when you connect, so Ditto posts only to the channel you pick.

💡 Connecting or revoking the org-wide Slack workspace connection is restricted to Ditto admins. Once an admin has done the initial setup, any authorized teammate can connect and configure their own projects and the library.
Set up the Slack workspace integration (admin)
Before any project or library can be connected, an admin needs to connect your organization's Slack workspace to Ditto.
Go to the Integrations page.
Find the Slack card and click Connect to Slack.
Approve the Ditto app in Slack. You'll either need to be a Slack admin or request admin approval to add the app to your Slack workspace.
Once approved, the Slack card shows a Connected state.
Once the workspace is connected, you and your teammates can connect individual projects and the component library.
Connect a project to a Slack channel
Open the project.
Click the ⋮ menu in the project header and choose Connect to Slack.
In the dialog, click Connect to Slack. A Slack popup opens.
Choose the channel you want notifications sent to and approve. To post to a private channel, select it in the same Slack approval screen.
The popup closes and the project shows Sending updates to #channel.
Connect the component library to a Slack channel
Go to the Library.
Click the ⋮ menu and choose Connect to Slack.
Click Connect to Slack, pick the channel in the Slack popup, and approve.
The library now shows Sending updates to #channel.
The component library connection is shared across your workspace — there's one library channel per workspace.
Configure Slack notifications
After connecting a project or the library to a channel, open the Slack dialog to choose which notification types are sent. Toggles save automatically.
Projects can send:
Status changes — a text item or component's status changes
Text edits — text is edited (shows the before/after)
Assignments — a text item is assigned or unassigned
Comment activity — comments, replies, suggested edits, and resolved/re-opened threads
Component linked / unlinked — a library component is attached to or removed from text items
Text items created / deleted — draft text items are added or deleted
The component library can send the first four (Status changes, Text edits, Assignments, Comment activity). The two project-only types don't apply to the library.
💡 All notification types are on by default.
View and manage all Slack connections
To see everything that's connected to Slack in one place:
Go to Settings → Connections.
On the Slack card, triple dot menu, click Manage channels.
The Slack channels dialog lists every connected project and the component library, with a Manage link on each row to jump to it and change its channel or notifications.
Disconnect Ditto from Slack
A single project or the component library: Open its Slack dialog and click Remove Slack notifications for this project/component library. This stops notifications for just that project (or the library) and clears its channel.
The entire workspace (admin only): Go to Settings → Connections, open the Slack card's ⋮ menu, and choose Revoke connection. This disconnects Ditto from Slack entirely — it removes the Slack token and clears the channel connection for the library and every project in the workspace.
